HOW TO CUSTOMIZE AND SEND E-CARDS: MEMBERSHIP GUIDE

ADDING ADDRESSES FROM YOUR ADDRESS BOOK:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. During the card sending process, use the link provided to open your address book window.
  3. Check off the names of the people you'd like to send the card to.
  4. Click SUBMIT. Then wait for the form to reload.
If your address book is empty. Please click here to add addresses to it now. Or you can just type them the first couple of times and we will automatically add them to your address as you begin sending ecards.
SENDING TO MULTIPLE RECIPIENTS:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. During the card sending process, use the drop down box provided to select the number of recipients you wish to send to.
  3. Wait for the card sending form to reload.
  4. Type or select all the names and email addresses of your recipients.
You can choose up to 20 recipients and send the card to all of them at the same time. The name of each recipient will be used seperately when we deliver the card to each of them via email. However, each recipient will receive the same custom message that you typed in. So, if you want to customize a seperate message for each recipient, make sure you send the card to one person at a time.
CUSTOMIZING THE NAME OF THE SENDER:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. During the card sending process, type your name into the "FROM" field. In some cases you may want the "from name" to appear as " John & Sue " for example. Feel free to be creative.
ATTACH A PHOTO TO ANY OF OUR ECARDS:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. During the card sending process, click "ATTACH A PHOTO".
  3. Locate the file for the photo you would like to send by clicking the "BROWSE" button. This will open a window on your computer so you can select the file and double click on it. The name of the file will then appear in the "Upload Photo" box on the upload window.
  4. When you're finished selecting files, click "UPLOAD" at the bottom of the form.
  5. Wait for the card sending form to reload. Then press "ATTACH".
Some of our e-cards are designed specifically for using photos in them. The instructions above should provide you with enough information to send those cards as well. You will find photo cards in various sections of our ecard directory.
FOR OUR SPECIAL MULTI-PHOTO ECARDS:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. During the card sending process, click "UPLOAD PHOTOS".
  3. Type in a title for your photos. EX: ( Tom's 30th Birthday! )
  4. Locate the files for the photos you would like to send by clicking the "BROWSE" buttons next to each numbered photo in the list. This will open a window on your computer so you can select the file, and double click on it. The name of the file will appear in the "Upload Photo" box on the upload window each time you select a file. You can also type in a caption that will appear next to each photo as it's viewed on the finished card.
  5. When your finished selecting files, click "UPLOAD".
  6. Wait for the form to reload. Then click "ATTACH".
  7. Once you have finished customizing your eCard, click send.
Our special multi-photo ecards can be found in various places throughout our ecard directory. These cards allow you to put together a mini photo album online and send it as an ecard.
ATTACHING PHOTOS FROM YOUR ALBUM:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. During the card sending process, click "ATTACH PHOTO".
  3. Here you will have the option of uploading a new photo, or clicking the link provided to pick a photo you have already uploaded to your album at CardFountain.
  4. Click the link to pick a photo from your album, choose the photo you want to insert.
  5. When you're finished selecting the photo, click "ATTACH".
  6. Wait for the card sending form to reload..
  7. Once you have finished customizing your eCard, click send.
ADDING A VOICE MESSAGE TO ANY OF OUR ECARDS:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. During the card sending process, click the "instructions" link for attaching a message which is located in it's own section of the card sending process.
  3. When the message window opens, you will be given a "VOICE ID#". Use this number when calling our voice messaging center on your telephone.
  4. Follow the instructions for calling our automated voice messaging system. When you are done, click "ATTACH THIS MESSAGE". It will take approximately 20 seconds for our system to attach your voice message to the eCard.
  5. Wait for the card sending form to reload.
CUSTOMIZING YOUR OWN MESSAGE OR HTML CODE:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. During the card sending process, type your message into the form field provided.
  3. You can optionally, select various font sizes, colors, styles and emoticons.
  4. If you know HTML, you may click the Html Code tab below the message field, here you can edit the html code for the message directly. If you would like to add your own custom banner/logo, or add links pointing back to your own web site, this is how you do that. Any logos or other graphics that you add must not contain any adult or offensive content, and the image locations must point to the full url location which should reside on your own server or web space provided by your hosting company. Also note that you cannot insert certain types of tags such as object, applet, activex, or javascript.
USING OUR IMAGES IN YOUR CUSTOM MESSAGE:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. During the card sending process, type your message into the form field provided.
  3. You can click the image insert button above the message field and choose from over 600 photos, animations, and emoticons in our library.
  4. If you'd like to upload an image of your own, you may do this in the photo attachment section of the card sending form. If you are in step-by-step mode, this may come later in the card sending process depending on the type of card you're sending.
  5. You can also edit the html code directly. If you have images on a web server or shared hosting provider, and you know how to insert them into the html code; use the Html Code tab across the bottom of the message field to do this. For more information, read the section on using custom html code.
CUSTOMIZING TALKING CARDS:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. On the card sending form, type your message into the form field provided. The message you type, is what the talking character will say to your recipients. BE CAREFUL to spell correctly, as computer generated speech is not forgiving to typos. Use periods where you'd like pauses in speech patterns.
  3. You can optionally, select various font sizes, colors, styles and more for your message which can also appear beneath the card so the recipient can read it too.
  4. Select the voice gender you prefer the character to speak with. Male or Female.
  5. You may wish to have the character speak using your own voice. During the card sending process, click the "instructions" link for attaching a voice message which is located in it's own section of the card sending form. When the message window opens, you will be given a "VOICE ID#". Use this number when calling our voice messaging center on your telephone. Follow the instructions for calling our automated voice messaging system. When you are done, click "ATTACH THIS MESSAGE". It will take approximately 20 seconds for our system to attach your voice message to the eCard. Wait for the card sending form to reload.
Attaching a personal voice message for the character to speak with, overrides your text message. Your text message will however, still be displayed beneath the card for your recipients to read if you want it to.
SPECIAL INVITATIONS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, ETC:
  1. Select the invitation or annoucement style eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. During the card sending process, type your message into the form field provided.
  3. You can optionally, supply additional data such as time, location, event title, etc. This data is placed into the areas represented on the card between the <> signs.
Our special invitation and announcement ecards can be found in various places throughout our ecard directory.
PREVIEWING AN ECARD BEFORE SENDING:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. On the card sending form, supply the data needed to customize your card.
  3. Click the "PREVIEW" button to open a new window with a preview of your finished card. When you are done previewing, close the preview window and return to the card sending form. You can preview your card as many times as you like until you have it just the way you like it.
CHOOSING A DELIVERY DATE:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. On the card sending form, use the drop down fields to specify a date for your card to be delivered. This is nice for birthday cards, etc. which may need to be delivered on a particular date in the future.
USING HTML OR LINKS IN YOUR CUSTOM MESSAGE:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. On the card sending form, use the icon buttons in the toolbar just above the custom message field to insert links, look at the html code, or include images of your own.
  3. If you know HTML, you may click the Html Code tab below the message field, here you can edit the html code for the message directly. If you would like to add your own custom banner/logo, or add links pointing back to your own web site, this is how you do that. Any logos or other graphics that you add must not contain any adult or offensive content, and the image locations must point to the full url location which should reside on your own server or web space provided by your hosting company. Also note that you cannot insert certain types of tags such as object, applet, activex, or javascript.
ADDING EMOTICONS TO YOUR CUSTOM MESSAGE:
  1. Select the eCard you would like to send and click the "Customize and Send" button.
  2. On the card sending form, click the emoticons icon above the message field to insert them.
  3. You will find more emoticons along with over 600 photos and animations in our image library. To access our image library, click the image insertion button just above the message field.
